Singing workshop with Anna Mudeka

If you have a pulse you are able to express yourself through music, be it singing, dancing or drumming

Come along and take part in this singing sensation day with Anna Mudeka.

Enjoy popular songs from Sub-Saharan Africa from some of the best African artists such as Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Miriam Makeba, Lady smith Black Mambazo, Baba Maal and Youssou n’dour and add to your repertoire the African national Anthem. The day will finish with a live performance for friends and family. Songs will be accompanied by African drums and percussion and to keep to the African rhythm expect a bit of ululating and movement too.

Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times

African Drumming and dance taster day

Date 9th June 2012

Anna Mudeka will be leading this 2 hour drumming workshops for all age groups with rhythms from Southern and Western regions of Africa. The drumming will be in three and four parts accompanied with singing. This workshop is designed to give those who attend an insight into the culture of Sub-Saharan Africa and their rituals. Under 18′s must be accompanied by an adult.

Time: 10:30-12:30

Price: £10/£8 cons

 

African Dance Workshop

An afternoon of pure physic for the lovers of dance, enjoy a two hour frenzy with dances from Guinea, Zimbabwe and Mozambique with live drumming. Please wear loose clothes and be prepared to dance bare foot. Under 18′s must be accompanied by an adult

I am looking forward to 2012 having had a crazy 2011, oh yes it was all happeing. My band has been working with Tontena records and we recorded our first single under a record label. The song is called “Side of the Angels” you can find it on itunes and amazon. Work is now underway to release the EP in April which will be launched in London May/June time.

Our patience has finally paid off and we are now a registered charity, The Mudeka Foundation has been supporting Aids orphans and disadvantaged children in Zimbabwe.

We are visiting Zimbabwe in March this year to meet the children and also see the family, can’t wait. Will keep you up dated
